Balkan rap had very well 2018. year and we had many events and concerts on the our scene, nevermind
underground or mainstream. In this blog I will present you the best Balkan rap
songs of 2018. (in my view).
Stoka (eng. Scum) is
37. years old rapper from Zagreb, Croatia whose career began in 90's. His song
Sportiva 4 relased in august 2018. and it speaks about basketball, loving of
sport and positive vibes in life. Goran
Kovačić made beat for this song and it now has 128K views on YouTube! Stoka was
hardcore junkie for an ages and had big problems with cocaine, speed and lot of
other drugs, but last year he turn new page in his life.
MC Rima (eng. MC Rhyme) is old school rapper born in 1990.
in Osijek, Croatia.
In october 2018 he relased song „Da'l te boli ona stvar?“
which speaks about bad social situation in Croatia and bad way of life in that
country! Song has only 4K views on
YouTube, but it's so good for me 'cause MC Rima spoke painful true! This guy
has cerebral palsy, but he still makes his dreams truth and he is one of the
best underground rappers on Balkan.
Edo Maajka (eng. Edo the
mate) is very popular rapper from Bosnia & Herzegovina bor in 1978. He has
five album and many awards. In 2018. he relased his song Otrov (eng. Poison)
which speaks about his depression, his marriage and his battle against anixety.
Edo's sound on new album is interesting
and unique mix of funk, rock and rap. In november 2018. Edo had big concert in
Dom sportova of Zagreb and that concert was unique spectacle.
Neispavani (Eng. No sleep guys) are hip-hop group from
Osijek, Croatia.
It has three members: Sagnarsky, Žo and Gordon! Topic of
their song „Ale“ is life of football/Soccer Ultrases (HC fans) and rage against
the system! Offical music video is full of pyro and it has spectacular visual
effect. That's the main reason why I am
put that song on list!
Guys from Neispavani also are members of Kohorta (Group of
HC NK Osij1ekupporters).
The champ is...VOJKO V! Rapper
from Split, Croatia His song „Kako to“ is satirical and it speaks about
mentality of lazy people on Balkan! Offical video for song is also made like
satire and that's reason why it it has 1,7 million views!
